The perfect upgrade to ANY Miata! 

If your shifter needs any new boots or bushings, it’s best to replace them all at the same time while you're deep within the shifter assembly. Also clean out any old fluid and gunk, and refill the turret with fresh fluid to complement the new bushings. Our kit uses Genuine OEM Mazda components with an option to upgrade to our famous race proven 5X Racing Bronze Shifter Bushing

Since it is impossible to change the washers and bushings without destroying the lower shift boot, we include this in every kit. You can re-use the upper shift boot if it is in good condition, so we give you the choice of including it in the kit or not. Use the selector on the right to configure your kit.

Basic Rebuild Kit:

  • OEM Mazda wave washers and change bushings
  • OEM Mazda plastic shifter bushing
  • OEM Mazda lower shift boot from 06+ MX-5 (is superior and fits all Miata's)
  • OEM Mazda Upper Shift Boot (optional)

    Race Spec Rebuild Kit:

  • All contents from basic kit with our Bronze Shifter Bushing instead of the OEM plastic bushing

    The solution to my shifting problems!!

    I was having mishifts, grinding, cant find gear issues at the track so i started my quest to fix these problems.

    I started with fresh transmission fluid by Redline and motor mounts by IL Motorsports (had to replace them because i suspect the engine is 'twisting ' way too much on high Gs in corners which further exacerbate the problem).

    Moving on. .i got this rebuild kit.
    There's some pieces that didnt look exaclty like the OEM so i didnt replace these parts as I didnt want to risk being unable to put it all back together and i had a trackday next morning : idk whats its called but its the tiny pieces above the ball joint of the shifter ball. The good thing is - these parts didnt look like it had significant signs of wear so i saved my time and didnt take it off / replace.

    The best part of this kit was the brass bushings. The inner rubber boot was also torn so I replaced it as well.

    Shifts felt more crisp and precise combined with RoadsterSport BBK shift knob (385g).
    I filled the shift turret ALL the way to ensure that I have good lubrication for the moving parts- some said use lithium grease but I personally prefer having it submerged in trans fluid since that's what's inside the turret anyways. .

    I highly recommend this product!
    I gave 4-star because there's no instructions that came with it (YT is helpful) and as I mentioned, a few parts didnt look exactly like the OEM.

    These combinations almost completely eliminated my shifting issues. Very happy!

    Shifter rebuild

    An excellent kit. It didn't come with any instructions, but rebuilding the shifter really isn't too complex so it was easy to do. Well worth it too! The brass bushing gives a nice tight shift and really elevated the whole driving experience. The only thing I would change...send two stickers instead of one!
