Should I drain the tank for installation?
No, the vent can be installed with fuel in the tank. I recommend having the fuel level at or below half.

My factory fuel tank cover doesn’t fit — do I need it?
Yes. In the event of a leak or fire, this cover is crucial. I recommend modifying it to fit and making sure the new hat is covered before racing. The install video shows how to do this.

What direction should I point the vent?
The vent can face any direction, but avoid pointing it at a Lexan window, as fuel vapor can cause cracking over time.

What is the black cap for, and when should I use it?
The black cap should remain on at all times except during fuel stops. While it’s possible to run without it, doing so is not recommended. High G-forces can cause fuel slosh, as the vent only seals in rollover conditions.
